Simon Tran
Audit Manager, Auckland.

I first came to Audit New Zealand straight out of university in 1996. Once I got my CA qualification, I, like many young Kiwis, took off on my overseas experience and went to London for three years.
Even though all my old Audit New Zealand mates and I would reminisce about the "good old days" and what a great place it was, for some strange reason it never occurred to me to come back here when I got back to Auckland.
I spent the next few years working at a range of companies, in a number of different roles, wondering why I felt a bit unsatisfied and bored – something was always missing.
It wasn't till I eventually did come back to Audit New Zealand that I realised what it was I'd been missing: work here is never boring. Each client is different, each audit is different. When our clients do something important it hits the front page of the national newspaper – not the front page of the business section.
At Audit New Zealand I have plenty of room to grow and stretch and challenge myself. But if you were to ask me what makes this such a great place to work, I'd say that it's the people; my colleagues are open and supportive, and I can truly be myself here.
