We are currently seeking Audit Directors for our Wellington, Palmerston North, and Christchurch offices. Audit Directors sign audit opinions on behalf of the Auditor-General, support the Auditor-General at Select Committees as required, manage key client relationships at the highest level, and fulfil a key leadership role, both locally and nationally.

You will likely come from senior manager/director or principal level in a chartered accounting practice, or a senior financial management/auditing role within a corporate environment. You may have moved away from your accounting/auditing background into a management role, possibly in the central government, local government, health or tertiary education sector.

Ideally, applicants will possess the following skills and attributes:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications, including being an NZICA qualified Chartered Accountant;
• Highly developed leadership and management skills, with a real focus on helping others to develop and perform to expectations;
• Expertise in managing client relationships at the highest level (including with governing bodies) and providing value-added audit and assurance services;
• Strong understanding of how organisations work, and the factors that affect their performance - and an ability to impart that knowledge to others;
• Track record of delivering quality work, including when being asked to perform under pressure; and
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills and the ability to influence others in group situations.
